Menorca : Travel Tips and Top Addresses
December is the perfect month to start dreaming about your spring trip and this lesser known Mediterranean gem is one to note.
By now, I assume most people probably have their holiday plans locked in, but looking ahead is a great way to ride the excitement of the season into what’s next. For those of you who put a lot of thought and energy into where they go, not just by how beautiful or convenient it is, but what the place stands for, Menorca should be on your radar.
This past September, my family and I spent five days and four nights exploring Menorca, with our toddler in tow. Living in San Sebastian, we feel lucky to be just a 1.5-hour flight away but a transcontinental flight still would not detour me. Below is a curated list of the highlights from our trip, along with a few places we’ve bookmarked for our next visit.
This small Balearic island, 250 miles east of Barcelona, is known for its rocky coastline, turquoise waters, and lush landscape. Declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1993, Menorca is dedicated to preserving its Menorquin identity, nature, and sustainable way of life. Unlike its busier neighbors, Mallorca and Ibiza, Menorca’s quieter charm is rooted in its historical resilience, making it a culturally and environmentally rich paradise.
